Lunghar Mission School (A Tandan supported school) – Lunghar Village

The Lunghar School stands as a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives, nestled in the picturesque village of Lunghar, home to the vibrant Tangkhul Naga tribe. The village, renowned for its thriving vegetable farms, where cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and peas grow in abundance, had long been in need of an educational institution.

In 2003, a group of visionary individuals from the village, came together to establish this school, driven by a shared passion to provide education to the local children. The school’s founders recognized the importance of education in unlocking the potential of the next generation and fostering community development. With a clear vision to empower the youth, this school began its journey, providing a place for children to learn, grow and flourish.

Since 2021, the school has been successfully managed by the village youth society, who have brought fresh energy and innovative ideas to the school. As the school continues to grow and evolve, it remains committed to its core values of community engagement. The Lunghar School is not just a place of learning; it is a beacon of hope, shining brightly in the heart of the village, illuminating the path to a brighter future for generations to come.
